The University of Tours has a long history of sending and receiving students through the Erasmus framework. These datasets provide an overview of the incoming and outgoing students for the academic year 2024-2025 through the Erasmus+ mobility programs.
In the Outgoing Students dataset, most of the 394 students do their mobility during their Bachelor’s degree (282 students in 2024-25), but a significant number do it in Master’s degree (112 in 2024-25). No student does a mobility during their PhD.
The three most popular countries for students are Spain, Italy and Germany, with respectively 93, 54 and 45 outgoing students.
Regarding the fields of study, programs with mandatory mobility are obviously well-represented, but it is interesting to note that Law also appears among the top three programs : Applied foreign languages is the first with 79 students, Law ranks second with 45 students and Business and Management sciences are third with 41 students, closely followed by Planning and environmental engineering with 40 students. There are students from 35 fields of study, which means that most of the departments offer a mobility opportunity to their students.
In the Incoming Students dataset, the majority of the 107 students come from Italy (27), Germany (24) and Spain (21). An outstanding 45% of the students are registered in Applied foreign languages but they are also able to take courses in different fields. In total, the 107 students are spread across 23 different fields of study. The student mobility takes place mainly during the Bachelor’s degree, with 88 students compared to 19 in Master’s degree.
The Erasmus programs are widely promoted at the university, information meetings are organised regularly for the students while the international office communicates with partner universities to advertise Tours and the courses offered at the university.
