In July 2026, an updated version (V2.0) of the dataset initially published in 2025 was released, providing an overview of the EU-funded research projects involving the University of Tours (UT) during the 2021–2027 programming period.
Over the course of one year, five additional EU-funded projects have been added, highlighting the University’s expanding role in international research and innovation. Overall, the dataset now includes 31 projects, compared with 26 in the previous version, spanning a wide range of European programmes and research domains. In addition, the project IDOH+ (Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Infectious Diseases and One Health) has been successfully completed.
This updated dataset reflects the University’s active participation in the major European research and innovation programmes, including Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, alongside key funding instruments such as the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. The University also participates in collaborative research networks through ongoing COST Actions and initiatives supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
The projects cover a broad spectrum of scientific and societal challenges. Among the newly added projects are an initiative dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship in the Deep Tech focus areas of advanced manufacturing, advanced materials, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data; the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s programme “Insects as Solutions for a Sustainable Future”; and a research project exploring the intersection of cultural heritage and new technologies.
