Student mobility is an integral part of Örebro University’s internationalisation work. About 350 students from around the world choose to study at Örebro University, and about 200 students from Örebro University went abroad as part of their studies.
Most student exchanges within Europe take place through the Erasmus+ programme, while exchanges outside Europe are arranged through bilateral agreements.
The current dataset on incoming and outgoing student exchanges at Örebro University relates to the 2024/25 academic year. The data have been retrieved from Ladok, Sweden’s national student documentation system.
In 2024/25, the 348 incoming students came from universities in 33 different countries. Most students arrived from European universities, primarily from Germany (81students), France (49 students), and Spain (23 students).
Of these incoming students, around one in eight (46 students) came from universities within the NEOLAiA alliance.
The majority of incoming students at Örebro University are female; approximately three out of five students are women.
During the 2024/25 academic year, Örebro University had 201 outgoing students. The most common fields of study among these students were business and economics (45 students), law (43 students), and engineering (26 students). The most popular destination country was France (33 students), followed by Italy and Spain (16 students each).
During the same academic year, 20 students from Örebro University went to study at another university within the NEOLAiA alliance.
Örebro University has set specific goals to increase both incoming and outgoing student mobility, with collaboration within NEOLAiA playing a key role. The university continues to develop new forms of mobility, including virtual and blended mobility, as well as joint master’s programmes with other European universities. In addition, the university offers a range of scholarships with a strong focus on internationalisation.
